Temperature indicators

Temperature measurement
In industrial production as well as in research laboratories it is often crucial to measure the temperature of parts.

In order to assure a clean production process or precise conditions in an experiment, a certain temperature must either not be undershot or exceeded. In places that are subject to agitation or vibration, thermometers can often not be used. In their place step temperature-stickers or indicator-labels. In automatic processing these test points are ideal for monitoring and logging the result. Moreover, they may even serve as evidence in the case of warranty claims.

The Swiss company Reatec AG is specialised in highly precise temperature indicators since 1971. They are the only provider that can offer indicators of a temperature interval of only 2°C. During the manufacturing process those indicators are tested in several different ways in order to guarantee accuracy to +/- 1% and a reaction time of about 2 seconds. Those indicators are as precise as a calibrated thermometer. This is also demonstrated in the dissertation "relevancy of rapid test methods within the scope of food inspection" by Heike Reichelt at the Leibzig University, Germany.

Temperature indicators are available as strips or points. Depending on their design, they can even be used in liquid substances such as water or oil. The indicators are easy for anyone to read, as they change colour from the initial light grey irreversibly to black. For further information: Temperature indicators Reatec
